1. ON GETTING THE EVACUATION CALL


1. Respond immediately
2. Assemble all family members
3. Secure your animals ready for evacuation in carriers/on leashes.
4. Collect your “grab/go bag” of essential items (see below)
5. Disconnect & remove gas bottle if time allows
6. Switch main power off at Mains Board
7. Remove any ammunition from premises(if applicable)



2. MOVE WITH CAUTION TO ASSEMBLY POINTS (See Map)


1. Move to the Ablution facilities at the Parking area
2. If this becomes unsafe further instructions will be given regarding safe assembly
3. If we need to evacuate Suiderstrand and the Agulhas road is closed then we will evacuate though the Park, guided by a Park official.
4. It is imperative that everybody meets at this assembly point. This will ensure that if we need to evacuate, we can assist the people who need help.



3. COMMUNICATE YOUR POSITION TO THE COMMUNICATION OFFICER

REMEMBER TO TAKE WITH YOU: Maintain a “Grab Bag” or box ready to go with the following inside or nearby. It should be packable within no more than 30 seconds.

1. Important documents Transfer and registration documents ID documents and passports
2. Laptop and/or external hard drive
3. Medication
4. Money, bank and credit cards

If you have enough time:


5. Disconnect and remove gas bottles from premises
6. Turn off the mains electricity switch

NB: DO NOT WASTE TIME COLLECTING OTHER MATERIAL POSSESIONS
